Mission:

Codman Square Health Center Youth Development programs engage young people in a broad array of after school activities to enhance life-skills and provide the tools necessary to make good decisions. Anchored by ATLAS (Academics, Technology and Lifeskills After School) - a joint venture of the Youth Development Departments of Codman Square Health Center (CS) and Dorchester House Multi-Service Center (DH) - we work to give youth the social and academic supports they need to make the best decisions for themselves, and ultimately, to achieve economic independence. ATLAS addresses the whole child, through multi-level interventions that are practical, fun, and that connect children to their community.

We adhere to the premise that consistent participation, supplemented with computer-based learning tools and qualified staff, over the course of several years will begin to close the academic deficit, and most importantly, to provide a familiar, safe environment for students to confidently tackle school work. ATLAS includes 7 specific components.
