BOSTnet November 2008 Leadership Roundtable

There are so many things these days to worry about; behavior at your program
should not be one of them. Our next Roundtable presents some strategies
and practical ideas around building an environment of positive behavior.
This Roundtable will examine the environment and common triggers of negative
behavior as well as how to direct children and youth to express their needs in
positive ways. The EEC approves this event for 2.5 certificate
hours. The presentation will also include a free copy of the Behavioral
and Emotional Support Assessment Tool, a self-assessment tool for use in
staff meetings or independently, co-authored by BOSTnet and PEAR.

BOSTnet All Means All! Conference 2008
Please join us on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Curry Student Center at Northeastern University for the 4th Annual All Means All Conference - Welcoming Children and Youth of All Abilities in Out-of-School Time Programs. This year's conference will provide program staff the opportunity to take workshops on a range of inclusion-related topics focused on children with both physical and intellectual disabilities geared specifically for afterschool and OST settings.

BOSTnet Engaging Families Conference
June 6, 2008: 9am-12noon. Families Matter! Conference - BOSTnet and the United Way are holding a conference on family engagement with the latest tools and strategies developed for the Out-of-School Time field. What new tools are available that will help you survey family interests or engage parents in program planning? How do you make parents/guardians advocates for your program?
At the Families Matter Conference, you will have a chance to:

- Adapt tools and strategies for your own programs;
- Discuss the latest issues in family engagement;
- Network with other programs in the field!
